Turns a pawn that reaches the last rank into the right piece.
A pawn that reaches the last rank promotes: it becomes a queen, rook, bishop or knight. It can't become a king or stay a pawn. Push the pawn to e8 and choose a queen.
Usually the queen is best, but not always. Here, if the pawn becomes a knight, it gives check and attacks the queen on c7 at the same time. Promote to a knight.
Rule: the new piece enters play on that square immediately. There can be two or even three queens on the board at once.
