What's in this lesson?
Learns the pieces by name and sets up the board correctly.
At the start of the game each player has sixteen pieces: eight pawns, two rooks, two knights, two bishops, a queen and a king. White always moves first.
The rooks stand in the corners.
The knights stand right next to the rooks.
The bishops stand next to the knights.
The queen goes on her own colour: the white queen on the light d1, the black queen on the dark d8.
The king goes on the square next to the queen.
The pawns line up in a row in front of the other pieces.
Make your first move: push the pawn on e2 two squares to e4.
