Queen and king can always mate a lone king. The method: keep the queen a knight's move away from the enemy king to push it step by step to the edge, then bring your own king closer.
The black king is on the edge and the white king faces it. Take the eighth rank with the queen and mate.
Mate the king in the corner, but careful: Qb6 is stalemate! Black would have no moves at all.
