Understands the idea of sacrificing a pawn for development.
A gambit is sacrificing a pawn in the opening for quick development or an attack. The most famous is the King's Gambit: White gives a pawn with f4.
Play the King's Gambit: f4.
Black took the pawn and White developed quickly. In gambits, the payment for the pawn is time. If you can't develop fast, your opponent just stays a pawn up.
In the Queen's Gambit, if Black takes the pawn, White easily wins it back; so it isn't a real sacrifice. Not every gambit is the same!
